THE FIRST NICOTRA DECEDENT FOUND AT MASCALI, and the patria column gives GIARRE — a Giarre native who died in the next comune, which is what removed the objection that a Giarre Nicotra would not appear in Mascali's registers. This archive already held him from the other end: RIPOSTO Matrimoni 1844 atto 39 marries «NICOTRA SALVADORE, patria Giarre, son of Nicotra Alfio and Pappalardo Rosa» to Barbagallo Maria, and Riposto's births hold his children Alfio (1845) and Rosa (1847). So he married at Riposto in 1844 and died at Mascali in 1848. His father's death act, Giarre Morti 1842 atto 189, was read in the original. THE ACT ITSELF IS NOT YET READ — this rests on the Tavola. Generation is inferred from birth or death against SIMONE NICOTRA, who is gen 7 and born about 1776. NOBODY HERE IS ATTACHED TO THE TREE; the number places them in time, not in the descent.
