This person is not in the family's file. They exist here because an act names them, and this archive has read it. The register gives their trade as bracciale. The reading is Giarre, Morti 1842 atto 189, read in the original. Nothing on this page comes from Michael's export, which never held them — so there is no tree account here to agree or disagree with, and the pieces the export arrived in do not include them. Why this person is here
«ALFIO NICOTRA D'ANNI SETTANTA, SPOSO DI ROSA PAPPALARDO, nato in Giarre, di professione BRACCIALE, FIGLIO DI FU GIUSEPPE e di FU LEONARDA PENNISI». He buried two grown children at Giarre — Isidoro in 1831 and Francesca in 1836, both «di Nicotra Alfio e Pappalardo Rosa» — and his son SALVADORE married at Riposto in 1844 and died at Mascali in 1848. HE IS NOT the Alfio Nicotra who died at Mascali in 1869: that man was born about 1796 and his mother was a CATERINA. Standing in Simone Nicotra's own generation in the same town and trade, he is a candidate brother and NOTHING ATTACHES HIM. Generation is inferred from birth year against SIMONE NICOTRA, who is gen 7 and born about 1776. NOBODY HERE IS ATTACHED TO THE TREE; the number places them in time, not in the descent.

These three towns repeat their names relentlessly — this archive holds four men called Rosario Mazza and four called Giuseppe Arena. These are different people, kept apart on purpose rather than merged into one. Why →
