Salvadore Nicotra
1784–1838

Each person is marked by what is known of them, not of the line to them: this archive does not yet keep a source for the link itself.
Every relationship drawn here has been proved by a record — all 10 edges on this chart were read out of a register rather than taken from the family tree. The method →
Two children here carry one name — Maria Nicotra. In these towns that is usually not an error: a child who died was very often replaced by a later child given the same name. It is also exactly how a records-matcher invents one person out of two, which is why they are kept apart here and the reader is told.
What the record says
Where this comes from
This person is not in the family's file. They exist here because an act names them, and this archive has read it. The register gives their trade as bracciale. The reading is Giarre, Matrimoni 1820 atto 30; Macchia, Morti 1838 atto 28, read in the original. Nothing on this page comes from Michael's export, which never held them — so there is no tree account here to agree or disagree with, and the pieces the export arrived in do not include them. How many there are →
All 10 of the relationships drawn above have been proved by a record this archive has read, rather than taken from the family tree.
No record has been read for this person. What is known of them is what the tree asserts, and it is unverified.
Others of the same name
These three towns repeat their names relentlessly — this archive holds four men called Rosario Mazza and four called Giuseppe Arena. These are different people, kept apart on purpose rather than merged into one. Why →

Why this person is here
Born at Milo; a bracciale; died in his house at Milo on 24 May 1838, «MARITO DI GIUSEPPA STRANO». Two children are known: Maria (died 1822) and Salvadore (died 1824), both at Macchia. MACCHIA, a comune beside Giarre later absorbed into it; the place is filed under Giarre because Macchia and its hamlets Milo and Dagala are not on the map. Declarants Gaetano Spoto, 40, and Rosario Fichera, 54, both of Milo. UPDATE 18 OCTOBER 2026: HIS CHILDREN BY GIUSEPPA STRANO NOW RUN MARIA (d. 1822), SALVADORE (d. 1824), FILIPPO (b. about 1827 at Sant'Alfio, m. 1851) AND GAETANO (b. about 1835, a witness in 1866). Macchia Matrimoni 1835 atto 2 shows a CIRINO (b. about 1810) and a ROSARIO (b. about 1815) as sons of a Salvadore (70) and Alfia Cannavò, almost certainly the same man by an earlier marriage; the declared ages (36 in 1820, 70 in 1835 and 1838) cannot all be right.
