Two children here carry one name — Salvadore Nicotra. In these towns that is usually not an error: a child who died was very often replaced by a later child given the same name. It is also exactly how a records-matcher invents one person out of two, which is why they are kept apart here and the reader is told.

Where this comes from

This person is not in the family's file. They exist here because an act names them, and this archive has read it. The register gives their trade as bracciale. The reading is Macchia, Morti 1836 atto 22, 1841 atto 25, 1844 atto 70, read in the original; 1852 atto 130; Macchia, Matrimoni 1835 atto 2, read in the original. Nothing on this page comes from Michael's export, which never held them — so there is no tree account here to agree or disagree with, and the pieces the export arrived in do not include them. All 8 of the relationships drawn above have been proved by a record this archive has read, rather than taken from the family tree.

No record has been read for this person. What is known of them is what the tree asserts, and it is unverified.

Others of the same name

These three towns repeat their names relentlessly — this archive holds four men called Rosario Mazza and four called Giuseppe Arena. These are different people, kept apart on purpose rather than merged into one. Why →

Why this person is here

A bracciale of Milo and the father of three children who died young, in 1836, 1841 and 1844. Alive in December 1852, when he is a declarant. NOT SHOWN to be a son of the elder Cirino: the name pattern invites it and nothing proves it. MACCHIA, a comune beside Giarre later absorbed into it; the place is filed under Giarre because Macchia and its hamlets Milo and Dagala are not on the map. UPDATE 18 OCTOBER 2026: Macchia Matrimoni 1835 atto 2 names his parents: «SALVADORE (70, bracciale) and ALFIA CANNAVÒ (50)», of Milo; he was 25, so born about 1809-10, and married ROSA RUSSO (28, born at Acireale) on 19 January 1835. THE SALVADORE IS TAKEN TO BE THE SALVADORE × GIUSEPPA STRANO WHO DIED IN 1838 (same trade, same place, the same two declared ages of «70»); the 1820 marriage act that makes that Salvadore 36 does not fit, and the mother's name (Alfia here, Agata in the 1838 death act) is a second conflict. The link is an inference.
