Why this person is here
A bracciale domiciled at MILO, who declared four children's births between 1850 and 1857. THE STRONG CANDIDATE FOR THE ROSARIO NICOTRA OF THE SIMONE LINE: the 1872 marriage papers of Giovanni Nicotra name his parents ROSARIO NICOTRA and VENERA MURABITO (a bracciante, living at Mascali), and this man's wife is VENERA MORABITO, 32 in 1850, 36 in 1855 and 40 in 1857; a Giovanni born about 1841 fits her age. AGAINST: the Rosario of the 1890 death act was «about ninety» (born about 1800), and his ages here run 42-48; and no Giovanni is in the Macchia birth registers of 1841 or 1847 (the 1872 certificate says Giarre). NOT CLAIMED AS THE SAME MAN; the test is the Giarre or Mascali record that links the two, and Rosario's own parents, which none of these acts names. MACCHIA, a comune beside Giarre later absorbed into it; filed under Giarre because Macchia and Milo are not on the map.
