This person is not in the family's file. They exist here because an act names them, and this archive has read it. The register gives their trade as contadino. The reading is Piedimonte Etneo, Matrimoni 1872 atto 20; Mascali, Nati 1873 atto 145; Mascali, Morti 1890 atto 35 — all read in the original. Nothing on this page comes from Michael's export, which never held them — so there is no tree account here to agree or disagree with, and the pieces the export arrived in do not include them. Why this person is here
FOUND, 9 October 2026, in Mascali Morti 1890 atto 35. «è morto NICOTRA ROSARIO, di anni NOVANTA CIRCA, CONTADINO, residente in Mascali, NATO IN GIARRE, da fu SIMONE, e da fu MUSUMECI MARIANNA, MARITO DI MURABITO VENERA», died 4 April 1890 at contrada Montargi. After three documents he has a birthplace, a birth year, a trade, a death, two parents and his wife named beside him. He was BORN AT GIARRE about 1800 — which is very likely why his son Giovanni said «nato a Giarre» — and he had moved to Mascali by 1872. Three independent acts now name him: his son's marriage in 1872, his granddaughter's birth in 1873 where he is «di Rosario» and alive, and his own death.

These three towns repeat their names relentlessly — this archive holds four men called Rosario Mazza and four called Giuseppe Arena. These are different people, kept apart on purpose rather than merged into one. Why →
