ANOTHER SON OF ROSARIO AND LEONARDA, AND THE NAMING CUSTOM CALLED HIM TOO. «Mazza Rosario, di anni trentadue, bracciante» declared him, born to «BONANNO LEONARDA, industriosa, sua moglie» in VIA S. BASILIO -- the same lane as his brother Mariano eight years earlier, and the mother's surname is given in full, which is what tells this household apart from the other Rosario-and-Leonarda in the town. GAETANO is the name the Sicilian custom gives after the MOTHER'S FATHER, and Leonarda's father is GAETANO BONANNO, named as such in the 1872 and 1873 acts. Witnesses Dimauro Salvatore, twenty-two, and Zappala Sebastiano, twenty-four. Not in the family tree, and his death has not been sought.
