GENERATION SEVEN, AND THE OLDEST NICOTRA THIS ARCHIVE HAS REACHED on the line that leads to the children. Named in his son's death act: «NICOTRA ROSARIO ... nato in GIARRE, da fu SIMONE, e da fu MUSUMECI MARIANNA». Dead by April 1890, and since Rosario was born about 1800 at Giarre, Simone was fathering children there at the turn of the century — before Sicilian civil registration began in 1820, which is why no birth act for Rosario can exist. A SIMONE NICOTRA IS ALREADY IN THIS ARCHIVE. Giarre's very first register year, Nati 1820, holds two untitled Nicotra households and one of them is SIMONE NICOTRA x DADONE. A man fathering a child at Giarre in 1820 and a man fathering Rosario at Giarre about 1800 are entirely consistent, and the forename is uncommon. IT IS NOT JOINED. The 1820 act names a wife this one does not match, and a shared forename in one town is exactly the trap this archive has refused a dozen times. The test is Giarre's pre-1820 parish registers or a Mascali marriage act for Rosario and Venera.
