DOMENICA COSTA'S MOTHER, widowed in March 1790 when her husband was about forty, and still alive in November 1815, when she stood beside her daughter and consented to the marriage. She is named three times in one bundle -- in her daughter's 1787 baptism, in her husband's 1790 death, and in the 1815 civil act -- which is as firmly as anyone in this archive is attested. ALFONZETTI is a Scilla name met elsewhere in the same run: an Alfonzetti groom marries in 1817 (atto 19). Not in the family tree.
