This person is not in the family's file. They exist here because an act names them, and this archive has read it. The reading is Scilla, Matrimoni 1815 atto 29; processetti 1815 n. 29, estratto di battesimo. Nothing on this page comes from Michael's export, which never held them — so there is no tree account here to agree or disagree with, and the pieces the export arrived in do not include them. Why this person is here

FILIPPO ARENA'S MOTHER, wife of Orazio Arena (b. c. 1751). Present in person at her son's marriage on 12 November 1815 and giving her consent with her husband. THE NAME IS LITTERIA, AND THIS ARCHIVE READ IT WRONG FOR AN AFTERNOON: the civil act's hand gives something like «Setteria», but her son's BAPTISM EXTRACT, copied into the marriage bundle in Latin by the parish economo on 26 May 1815, writes «ex Horatio Arena et LITTERIA MORABITO coniugibus». Litteria is a real and common name on this coast -- from the Madonna della Lettera, patroness of Messina, across the strait -- and «Setteria» is not. The clearer document wins. Not in the family tree. SHE OUTLIVED HIM: Orazio died 12 July 1830 and she is named without «fu» in the 1838 marriage Tavola, so she was still alive on 4 September 1838, a widow of eight years.
