What the record says
Where this comes from
This person is not in the family's file. They exist here because an act names them, and this archive has read it. The reading is Riposto, Morti 1849 atto 25, read in the original; Nati 1848 (Tavola). Nothing on this page comes from Michael's export, which never held them — so there is no tree account here to agree or disagree with, and the pieces the export arrived in do not include them. Others of the same name
These three towns repeat their names relentlessly — this archive holds four men called Rosario Mazza and four called Giuseppe Arena. These are different people, kept apart on purpose rather than merged into one. Why →

Why this person is here
«LEONARDA NICOTRA, di mesi UNO e giorni VENTISEI, lattante, NATA IN RIPOSTO», in the house at Strada Vignetti. The Tavola's surname looked like «NIESTRA» in this clerk's hand and the entry was recognised only by its parents. The 1848 BIRTH Tavola gives the forename as Leonardo; the death act's Leonarda shows a girl, so the birth row's forename is very likely a misreading. Declarants Giuseppe Trovatello, 50, becchino of Giarre, and Rosario Greco, 33, bastagio of Riposto — the same two men who attest every Riposto death of that year.
