Giuseppe Arena
An ancestor of Mia and Rocco — generation 4 above them.
2 of the 12 relationships drawn here have been proved by a record; the other 10 come from Michael Mazza's family tree and have not. The colour on each edge says which is which, and it is drawn per edge so that one proved link cannot vouch for the rest. The method →

Where this comes from
2 of the 12 relationships drawn above have been proved by a record this archive has read. The other 10 come from Michael Mazza's family tree and have not.
3 records have been read about them:
- Scilla, Nati 1892, atto 230 — born 6 October 1892, Via Grotte 75 — birth register
- Scilla, Matrimoni 1885, atto 73 — married Maria Martello, 12 September 1885 — marriage register
- Scilla, Nati 1892, atto 230 — documented
The tree gives his birth as 10 June 1892. Act 230 says he was born on 6 OCTOBER 1892 at Via Grotte 75 and was declared on the 9th. The 1892 index holds only one Arena Giuseppe, and the act names his mother as Concetta Russo, so this is the same child.
Aged twenty-five, a marinaro, FIGLIO DI FRANCESCO ANTONIO E DI SERAFINA ARLOTTA — the father's name written out in full, which is what proves that the 'Antonio Arena' of the acts of 1854 and 1885 is Francesco Antonio. His bride's father, Paolo Martello, was already living in AMERICA.
Birth date — Born 6 October 1892 at Via Grotte 75, declared on the 9th. The year is right; the day is not.
Where the two disagree, the chart above still draws the tree as it stands. This archive does not silently rewrite what it was given — the acts are here.

Others of the same name
These three towns repeat their names relentlessly — this archive holds four men called Rosario Mazza and four called Giuseppe Arena. These are different people, kept apart on purpose rather than merged into one. Why →
