His daughter's marriage bundle carries the parish death register verbatim: «Die vigesima nona mensis Martii Anno Domini millesimo septingentesimo nonagesimo, Scyllae, JOANNES DE COSTA, aetatis suae annorum quadraginta circiter, FILIUS QUONDAM JOSEPHI ET JACOBAE TURCO, legitimus vir MARTHAE ALFONZETTI» -- lying ill in bed, confessed to Rev. D. Paolo Turco, given the Viaticum and anointed, and buried in the church of S. Maria di Porto Salvo. He is written DE COSTA in Latin and COSTA in the civil act. Not in the family tree.
