This person is not in the family's file. They exist here because an act names them, and this archive has read it. The reading is Scilla, Morti 1830 atto 64. Nothing on this page comes from Michael's export, which never held them — so there is no tree account here to agree or disagree with, and the pieces the export arrived in do not include them. Why this person is here
GENERATION NINE. «FIGLIO DEL FU FILIPPO ARENA e della fu SANTA UNGARO» -- the death act of his son ORAZIO, 12 July 1830. The «fu» dates him dead before that day; his son was born about 1751, so he belongs to the 1720s and everything about him is pre-civil and parish. AND HE EXPLAINS A NAME: Orazio's first son, born 25 March 1793, is FILIPPO -- the Sicilian and Calabrian custom giving the first son his father's father. This archive used the custom to RANK candidates for four months and never once to identify one; here the act confirms it after the fact, which is the only way round that is safe. THERE ARE NOW THREE FILIPPO ARENA in this archive: this one, his grandson born 1793, and that man's grandson born 1852. All three are filed apart on purpose.
