This person is not in the family's file. They exist here because an act names them, and this archive has read it. The register gives their trade as contadina. The reading is Piedimonte Etneo, Matrimoni 1872 atto 20; Mascali, Morti 1890 atto 35, read in the original. Nothing on this page comes from Michael's export, which never held them — so there is no tree account here to agree or disagree with, and the pieces the export arrived in do not include them. Why this person is here

GIOVANNI NICOTRA'S MOTHER, of MASCALI, named without «fu» and so alive on 7 October 1872. A contadina. The tree's own household holds a daughter VENERA NICOTRA, and a first daughter is named for the paternal grandmother -- though her mother was a Venera too, so the custom points both ways here and is not evidence on its own. ENTIRELY ABSENT FROM THE FAMILY TREE, like every person above generation four on this side. ALIVE ON 4 APRIL 1890. Her husband's death act calls him «MARITO di Murabito Venera» — marito, not vedovo, and that register writes «vedovo» for a widower on the same pages. So she outlived him, and her death act is the next document to find: it would give her age, her parents, and the Murabito household she came from.
