Maria Nicotra
Of Mascali.
No family record in this archive names this person — not as a child, not as a spouse, not as a parent. They are held here because the tree holds them, and no relationship of theirs is recorded to draw.
This person is not in the family's file. They exist here because an act names them, and this archive has read it. The reading is Mascali, Morti 1828 atto 49, read in the original. Nothing on this page comes from Michael's export, which never held them — so there is no tree account here to agree or disagree with, and the pieces the export arrived in do not include them. Why this person is here
«e di MARIA NICOTRA domiciliata ANCHE IVI» — alive at Mascali in June 1828 and the first Nicotra trace in that comune. SHE IS NOT THE MARIA NICOTRA AT GENERATION FOUR, Salvatore Mazza's wife, born at Mascali in 1875 and died at Brisbane in 1963; the two are a century apart and the parenthesis is here to keep them apart. Of Simone Nicotra's own generation. SHE NEVER APPEARS AS A DECEDENT: fifty-one years of Mascali deaths were swept afterwards and she is not in them, so she died before 1820, after 1872, or elsewhere. Generation is inferred from birth or death against SIMONE NICOTRA, who is gen 7 and born about 1776. NOBODY HERE IS ATTACHED TO THE TREE; the number places them in time, not in the descent.
