Giovanna Ventrice's paternal grandfather, and the reason his certificate is in her marriage bundle: the act says she produced «la fede di morte del padre e dell'avo paterno», and the bundle holds exactly two Ventrice deaths. Died at Zambrone on 13 January 1815 at twenty-three o'clock, a BRACCIALE, husband of ANNA FAMA, and son of the late PAOLO VENTRICE and the late ANNA PAPPA. HIS AGE IS AMBIGUOUS IN THE ONLY SURVIVING TEXT: the copyist writes «sposo di Anna Fama di anni cinquanta ... di anni cinquantotto, di professione bracciale». The fifty-eight sits with his trade and is taken as his, so born about 1757; the fifty is taken as his wife's. This archive first published him as fifty.
