This person is not in the family's file. They exist here because an act names them, and this archive has read it. The register gives their trade as marinaro (sailor). The reading is Antenati name index, Scilla, atto di morte 19 October 1924 (Camillo Antonio Polistena); Scilla, Nati 1836 atto 204. Nothing on this page comes from Michael's export, which never held them — so there is no tree account here to agree or disagree with, and the pieces the export arrived in do not include them. Why this person is here
A NEW ANCESTOR ON THE THINNEST QUARTER. Named as Camillo Antonio Polistena's father on his death act. The Polistena quarter had NO documented ancestor above Camillo Antonio at all; this is the first, and his wife Anna Pontillo is the second. DATED AND GIVEN A TRADE: thirty-eight and a MARINARO in December 1836. That sets the Polistena beside the Arena and the Arlotta as another Scilla sailing family, and it is the first fact about him that is not a name on his son's death act. AND A DEATH BOUND AT LAST: «il FU Giuseppe» and «la FU Anna Pontillo» in their son Camillo Antonio's marriage act of 23 JANUARY 1881, each «residente in vita in Scilla». Both were alive at their daughter Fortunata's birth in January 1840 and dead by January 1881. A THIRD AGE, AND IT DOES NOT AGREE: he is FIFTY in September 1844 (Nati 1844 atto 137), against thirty-eight in December 1836 and thirty-four in December 1833. Births of 1794, 1798 and 1799. The two earlier figures agree with each other and this one does not; recorded, not averaged.
