This person is not in the family's file. They exist here because an act names them, and this archive has read it. The register gives their trade as sartore (tailor). The reading is Scilla, Matrimoni 1813 atto 21. Nothing on this page comes from Michael's export, which never held them — so there is no tree account here to agree or disagree with, and the pieces the export arrived in do not include them. Why this person is here
Married MARIA GIUSEPPA PONTILLO, sixteen, daughter of Giovanni Pontillo, forty-two, commerciante, and Diana Idone, at Scilla on 12 August 1813; the banns were published at CAMPO as well as Scilla. A TAILOR, in a family of barbers, and no established connection to the Arena of this archive's spine -- TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE until a record says otherwise. NOTE THE BRIDE'S SURNAMES: Pontillo and Idone both appear elsewhere in this archive, in the Polistena and Costa households. That is a coincidence of common Scilla names and is written down as one.

These three towns repeat their names relentlessly — this archive holds four men called Rosario Mazza and four called Giuseppe Arena. These are different people, kept apart on purpose rather than merged into one. Why →
