Antonio Arenab. 1902

No family record in this archive names this person — not as a child, not as a spouse, not as a parent. They are held here because the tree holds them, and no relationship of theirs is recorded to draw.

This person is not in the family's file. They exist here because an act names them, and this archive has read it. The reading is New York Roman Catholic Parish Baptisms, Our Lady of Loretto and Most Precious Blood (Findmypast) — US/NY/CATH/PR/BAP/PH2/00198880. Nothing on this page comes from Michael's export, which never held them — so there is no tree account here to agree or disagree with, and the pieces the export arrived in do not include them. Why this person is here

THE SECOND ANTONIO, AND THAT IS THE FINDING. Rocco Arena and Generosa Costa baptised a son ANTONIO on 15 November 1896 and another son ANTONIO on 2 November 1902. IN THIS FAMILY'S PRACTICE THAT MEANS THE FIRST CHILD DIED and the name was given again -- the same reading this archive already made of ORAZIO ARENA'S TWO SONS NAMED DOMENICO at Scilla in 1856 and 1859. The export holds one «Antonio Arena» among Rocco's children with no dates. IT IS PROBABLY THIS ONE, the survivor, but nothing in the export can test that, so both are recorded here and neither is merged. HIS MOTHER IS TRANSCRIBED «GENEROSA COLTA» -- one more of this data's garblings, beside Lecota for Nicotra, Postamo for Prostamo and Cupo for Crupi.

These three towns repeat their names relentlessly — this archive holds four men called Rosario Mazza and four called Giuseppe Arena. These are different people, kept apart on purpose rather than merged into one. Why →
